To maintain a beautiful lawn throughout spring to fall the following is recommended:
Mowing: Mowing and trimming of maintained turf areas will be done once per week from May through October weather permitting. Grass debris will be blown from all non-grass areas. Mowing of native grasses available upon request.
Aeration: This should be done at least once per season but recommended once in the spring and once in the fall. This treatment is the pulling of plugs in your lawn to allow nutrients to travel to grass roots and help fight disease. Aeration also helps your lawn grow lusher.
Dethatching/Power Raking: This treatment is recommended before the first mow as it readies your lawn for mowing. This process rakes the dead, matted down grass which is then removed and allows your lawn to grow more freely and lushly. This is highly recommended when we have had significant snowfall the previous winter. Raking will also help areas damaged by voles to re-establish.
General Spring Cleanup of Grounds: This may include leaf cleanup to shrub pruning to re-mulching to hardscape powerwashing. Please let us know how we can get your outdoor living spaces spruced up for the summer.
Spring Irrigation: Sprinkler turn or, done in the spring weather permitting. This includes: turning on the system, running through all zones to assure all heads are working properly and providing adequate coverage, minor adjustments and correct timer settings as regulated by the town.
Irrigation Maintenance and Repair: A once monthly check and adjustment of your system. This is a great idea for second homeowners or if you go on vacation, it can certainly give you peace of mind to know that your system is being cared for- not over watering, under watering, or broken!
Irrigation Winterization: This must be done in the fall before the winter snow hits. Winterization is the clearing of all water from the system and turning it off for the winter. This prevents damage during the winter months but does not guarantee it.
Garden and Shrub Bed Maintenance: Service to include weeding, deadheading and pruning to keep gardens looking clean and spectacular. We also suggest adding organic matter to your soil to provide much needed nutrients for your flowers and shrubs to thrive, or the addition of mulch to your gardens can nicely refresh their appearance.
Turf Fertilization and Weed Control: Three applications of each are recommended through the growing season. Fertilization greatly increases the beauty of your lawn. Weed control or herbicide controls and prevents weeds from growing.
Flower Pots and Containers: We can turn your vision for flower pots, rail containers, and hanging baskets for your porch and patio into reality. Let us know the colors and types of flowers that you enjoy and we will take it from there! Enjoy planting your pots yourself, but heading out of town for summer vacation? No problem, we can tend to your flowers while you are gone to keep them looking great for your return. Weekly deadheading for re-bloom and adequate watering and fertilizing is crucial for that colorful flowery show that you want to enjoy all season!
Fall Cleanup of Grounds: This service may include leaf cleanup as needed, shrub pruning and flower cutbacks which will prepare things for the long winter and will leave your outdoor spaces tidy in the spring as things melt out.
Elk/Deer Fencing Installation and Tree Wrapping: Elk/deer fencing helps protect your trees and shrubs over the winter from damage incurred by the deer and elk that frequent the area. Tree wrapping can protect your young trees from solar damage to protect your investment.
